Not many people would suspect cinnamon of having a slew of medical
benefits, but it actually does. The American Journal of Clinical
Nutrition found that a teaspoon of cinnamon added to a largely starchy
meal, like oats, can help combat insulin spikes and stabilize blood
glucose levels. The antioxidants in cinnamon, called polyphenols, have
been proven to improve your body’s ability to store fat and manage
hunger by way of improving insulin sensitivity.
