Ruby red grapefruits are much richer in antioxidants then their white
counterparts, thus making them the better choice, especially for
diabetics. Because of its high levels of vitamin C and soluble fiber,
the American Diabetes Association has put ruby red grapefruit on their
list of superfoods. Studies have shown the these fruits can lower “bad”
LDL cholesterol levels and increase “good” HDL cholesterol levels.
